Straight from Milan’s Salone Del Mobile 2012, innovative Italian furniture maker, De Padova explores in a short video series the inspirations behind their newest collaborations with  Aksu/Suardi, Phillipe Nigro and Luca Nichetto.

It is interesting to see how these individual designers have brought their own vision to such a iconic Italian brand. De Padova’s simplicity and functionality shaped by tenures amazing designers including the great Vico Magistretti is clearly seen in these collaborative efforts. Nichetto in talking of his own Railway piece, notes:

”De Padova in some ways turns ‘classic into a factory brand” and I wanted a certain type of language that would marry itself to the whole collection.”

This global view of design is also explored in DePadova’s display at  Salone Del Mobile 2012.  Curated by Malaysian designer Jo Ann Tan, and her attempt of taking you literally into a De Padova catalog with the theme “Everything becomes a Reality.” You can see the making of the amazing interactive display here
